Firestorm: Stripes

A regrettable loss. Key mistake was the reckless decision of an tired out commander. He ordered his Chieftain platoon and 6 APCs to attack an only lightly defended objective. But he completely forgot about the fact that the Blowpipes couldn’t protect the charge against the Frogfoots from their positions because of the darkness of the dawn. That enabled the enemy aircract to kill a chieftain right away and a second one (lucky shot by a BMP) in the retreat which followed. And this then lead to the fleeing of the last remant.
Hence my right flank was weakened considerably very quickly. A mistake which my opponent saw and exploited unforgivingly. Only the Milans delivered a flicker of hope. I had positioned them in a central building from which they now got a lot of succesfull shots in the flank of the ongoing german attack. Even though they were outnumbered like 6:1 the hard as iron infantry hold up the attack until the last round. As a result a could bring my reserves in to do further damage which they did killing 2 BMP1 platoons, a recce vehicle and 1 T55. So the last of our 3 games still made an interesting and intense game.

The concept to organize them in seperate units instead of the Inf.platoons (since they’re have to stay gtg pretty much all the time) worked very vell. I’ll defnitely go with this from now on.
