Very close very messy engagement in the early morning.

Both forces showed little gusto before dawn, with NATO air support failing to be diverted ion support, however things hotted up very quickly after first light.

A red dawn indeed as with first light came the soviet onslaught, West German rallied time and again and eventually with air support finally up and running held the line denying the Soviets victory only at the last. Too close for comfort but another victory for Democracy

My Gepards were a god send in this battle, they came on from reserve us in this time catch the Soviet infantry in the open. Better than that they held up to soviet infantry, who as a sweetener got over excited and charged them resulting in extra carnage. Finally the Soviet commander had to pull in further support from his scout BMP to deal with them. All in all my 2 Gepards had no airborne targets to deal with but managed to slow the Soviet left flank fo far longer than seems realistic to hope for. Giving me the time to shore up my defence of the objective to take the wi.
