Pre-Battle set up: NATO used the scout sections to spear head along the bottom of their deployment zone towards the right of the table.
NATO Turn 1: The 3 M60 platoons advance on the table and move to flank the other side. Extremely good marksmanship of the US Army wiped 3 of the 4 T-64 from second company off the board.
Soviet Turn 1: Soviets pulled back to prevent the easy side shots for the advancing M60 soviets fire kills 1 and bail 2 others (NATO passed morale)+ kills 1 in the far right flank unit.
NATO 2: NATO remounts 1 tank and fails Bog check with one but other tank gets on flank of Soviet Battalion Commander. Kills Soviet Formation Commander. Soviets fail commander jump roll. A T-64 from first company dies.
Soviet 2: Soviets exchange fire with NATO killing the M60 that killed Formation Commander.
Nato 3: 2nd Platoon of M60 get into the mix and kill off the 3 T-64 from first company (final tank flees morale). Only 1 T-64 from 2nd platoon remains and the Hinds
Soviet 3: Hinds go after the M60 in the woods. BRDM recon come on the board, but cant get to the objective.
NATO 4: Secures both objectives , Kills final T-64
Soviet 4: Concedes
Great fight and a slugfest as we Germans say
beautiful table a great win
A very good Excellent AAR, supportive pictures; nice ORBAT
Heavy on the M60s! I like it! Congrats on your victory
Short and sharp, but with all the relevant information. I like it 🙂
Quick and concise report. You’re doing the US proud.
Great Job Commander and thanks for sharing your Battle Report. Well Done!
Think about spreading out the pictures as I mentioned last report
Actually I only had the two on the table they accounted for 1 T-64’s in the entire battle. I never got a reserve roll. It was the aggressive use of the M60 to get flank shots that did it and the very lucky first turn of shooting.
for the amount of M901s you had, they did´ten seem to do much. isn’t that one of the big alluring things with the US CAV formations. the option of having loads of cheap spearheading ATGM launchers? and that you can pair it with your tank of choice. or did your enemy just managed to play in a way to not expose himself to them?
