First match in the tournament held yesterday in Baden (near Zurich, Switzerland).
My opponent played a Soviet Motor Rifle (see army lists).
We both choose to defend, and the mission rolled was Free-for-All.
I choose the defend the right side of the table, mostly because of the presence of the fast food restaurant.
With a spearhead movement, I was able to seize the high building and others key terrains, I managed this way to place my MILAN section in a dominating high ground.
I decided to leave my Air Assault platoon loitering off table.
My opponent had the first turn and pushed his T72, BMPs, Shilkas forward. During his shooting I lost one of my Striker.
I blitzed forward my Recce in order to eliminate the AA assets and gain air superiority for the remainder of the game, which luckily happened. The Strikers killed 2 T72s.
T72s continued to push forward and were able to destroy a Striker and bail another, they fled the battlefield.
Next threat for me were the BMPs which received a heavy and precise fire from my rocce units and MILANs. Harriers arrived and managed to severely damage the Soviet artillery.
This phase took us a couple of turns, were we both shoot at each other causing heavy casualties (all recce platoons were at half strength, BMPs and artillery gone).
In the final round, I entered my Air Assault infantry, on the southern objective, but time was up and the game was a draw.
Unlucky on the draw, but I like the use of unit markings on the deployment picture. Would have liked a bit more detail though, good game 🙂
Nice table layout and BatRep
Keep it up!
A very cool approach to this AAR, loved it!
Nice looking photos and graphics – thanks for the great report!
Nice job
Great report. Keep them coming.
good report. It will go well in your record (shamelessly stolen from She Wore A Yellow Ribbon). Nicely done with unit symbols
Lovely table and nice unit symbols. Makes it easier to see what’s going on.
Pity it was a draw, you deserved better! Perfect tactical pictures about the Combat! Thx for sharing and the innovative approach
