Military Intelligence reports that a U.S. Mech Company material has been stolen from an army depot in the Frankfurt region. These tanks has been spotted heading to Ruhr. Enemy could be disguised in US uniforms as well.
Our company task is to find and neutralize them.

Enemy army list is well known:
Cavalry HQ
2x Mech Inf platoons with dragons
1x Tank platoon (4x Pattons)
4x Brand new Sergeant York
3x M109 with Copperhead
4x Cobra
6x ITVs
4x Stinger
2x Warthog

The rolled mission was Dust Up.

The battlefield is an industrial area surrounded by hills and woods. I defend the lower right part.

I choose to deploy one of my infantry platoons on one objective and the airmobile platoon on the other.
I use my recce unit to spearhead and gain access to the wood where I can deploy in favorable position my Strikers.
The MILAN platoon is ready to take position in the industrial buildings and the Harriers are kept loitering off table.
Maurus deploys one infantry platoon on one objective, the other is guarded by his AA and artillery.
The Cobras are ready to strike behind the woods and the other infantry platoon takes position in the buildings of the industrial area.

Maurus has the first turn, something he doesn't really want. He moves his M113 down the industrial area to harass my infantry.
His Cobra try to engage the Strikers (not being gone to ground at the moment and having the Rapiers not ready to fire yet), he manage to destroy one and bail a HQ Spartan.
During my turn I blitz my Scimitars to engage and destroy the M113, my MILANs take position in the mid of the industrial area, the Air Assault platoon moves on the fuel tanks.
The Harriers come in and begin an old school gun brawl with the Cobras, leaving just one surviving only to be shot down by the Rapiers.

Maurus tries to engage the MILANs with .50cal MGs and Scimitars with Dragons but he's ineffective in his actions.
He manage to destroy one Rapier with Copperheads.
My Strikers shoot the enemy artillery at the maximum distance and two M109 are in flames, the third fled the battlefield.

First enemy reserves arrives, the A10 flight which concentrates on my Scimitars and destroying them.
My shooting concentrates on the M113 and the enemy AA. All 4 Sergeants York are bailed and fled. My first reserve arrives, the Scorpions.

Maurus has good reserve dices, receiving two of them (out of two dices) this turn, Pattons and ITVs.
The Pattons are sent to reinforce the objectives (one of them is now unguarded).
The ITVs successfully blitz and shoot the Rapiers killing another one.
My Scorpions tried to rush to the objective, but the burning Scimitars are an obstacle to them.
I receive one reserve, my mortars, which began to bombard the nearest infantry platoon.
My Harriers arrive and attack the Pattons, destroying two and bailing another, but the platoon held.

Again Maurus receives three reserves out of three dices. But its not enough.
My Scorpions reach the objective, my reserve infantry platoon arrives and prepares an assault on the decimated infantry platoon.
The last Patton is targeted by multiple MILANs and destroyed.

Maurus decides to call the day.

It has been a good game, Maurus had poor dices in his saves and platoon tests, but very good with reserves.
That was a tournament match, I was pressed by the time and I forgot to take pictures, I've only this one. Taken during fourth or fifth turn.

  • bayankhan says:

Nice pictures, but they would do better sequenced with text more closely. At least to my taste. But well played, even if I find the results disheartening

Unfortunately we’re not getting tournaments here until may so I’m not playing as often, but it’s good that you can rack up wins in our favour! Commended.
