Intelligens reports had indicated that the East Germans was close and my company prepared for battle. But failure in communication between BAOR and the West German army meant the the West Germans engaged the Volks Armee on there own, without the support of my company. Instead of just letting my men rest, I decided to fight a Polish company in captured west German equipment.

We played FREE FOR ALL.
The Polish commander dug in his two infantry platoons on the objectives and placed his Gepards and Leo 1´s in a forrest on my left flank near one of the objectives. The PAH´s where hiding behind another forrest. His motars and luchs deployed on my right flank.

I left my Mech Platoon to guard the right objective and put down the rest of my company on the left, in an attempt to rush the objective before the Choppers killed of my tanks. The Rapiers deployed close to some cover to avoid incoming fire from the enemy ground troops.

The first couple of round saw little casualties except 3 dead Gepards. But as I failed to get some close air support from my harriers that didn't matter. The 3 tank Chieftain platoon moved right up to the left objective to get inside minimum range form the german Milan teams and My self and the 2 tank platoon proveded coverfire. The Polish tried an all out attack with Tornadoes and PAHs on my Rapiers only with the result of 3 Tornadoes being shot down.

Finally the Harries showed up only to lose 2 planes to the Fleigerfausts and failing the kill anything but one M113. My 6 Chieftains with their BRUTAL gun only killed 1 stand of infantry in 5 rounds og shooting.

The Battle waved back and fourth and finally I assaulted with two Chieftains and managed to kill the infantry platoon guarding the objective. In the following turn the Polish got a shot in and killed a Chieftain. With no enemys contesting the objective all I needed was for the last Chieftain to stick around to claim victory, but no, the morale of 4+ is not to be trusted. With the time running late and limited forces left on both sides, we called it a draw.
Great battle.

I forgot to take any pics but I will try to do better next time.

God save the Queen.

Seems like there are quite a lot of Blue on Blue games so far.

    Nice battle!
Lets hope that us Pacts players have enough time to satisfy all the NATO players in the group 😉

  • bayankhan says:

something to think about…have one of your ‘blue’ forces pretend to be the PACT using captured equipment. By this point both sides would have captured junk, the PACT more than NATO (simply by virtue of advancing). Treat them as fully functional, though, to avoid ‘points’ issues. Nice table, though, and pretty models.

    Nice report,

Fingolfen, don’t worry to much about Blue on Blue, My Group has the reverse problem. Red on Red in the future. It will balance out

    Cheers

  • Major Beaver says:

Yes we are definitely short of Warsaw Pact players. 6 Nato and 2 Pact do not add up.

Nice looking tanks. Not a big fan of blue-on-blue for campaigns like this. Are you guys short Pact players?
