Report: Tovarisch Komandyr-The 58th Guards Tanks, supported by 175th Tankovy, engaged in war-games with the 76th Mechanized Brigade to prepared for future assaults in Leipzig. This operation was for the purpose of testing massed tabk assault tactics vs. ATGM anti-tank defenses. Our opponents fielded approximately 27 BMP-2 armed with Spigot anti-tank missiles. Our simulation included delayed reserve units, but my formation was able to deploy almost all our T-64 and T-55 tanks. Due to communications difficulty, our supporting artillery was unable
to fire smoke barrage to cover a massed attack from my right flank. ATGM fire proved highly accurate as it had in Adept Icon 1. In this case, superior Soviet missile technology was even more effective in destroying our tanks. We rapidly lost many T-55s and equally T-64 to Spigot fire. Upon closing the range, the low rate of fire of our guns meant we inflicted few losses on the BMPs. With the quick loss of most of our tanks to only 12 BMP supported by Sturm, Guards Tankovy conceded the exercise to the brave soldiers of 76th Mechanized. Of particular note was their ability to redeploy (blitz) just out of minimum range to fire their Spigots even when our tanks had closed the distance. Full marks to Tovarisch Podpolkovnik Anonimiski and his men. May their talents bring victory against the imperialists of NATO!

Also noted is the kindness of field command in recognizing the dedication to socialist ideals and Soviet bravery exhibited by 58th Guards during Operation Adept Icon phases 1-3. Pictures is the unofficial medal awarded. We are humbled by this accolade and resolve to bring glory to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in our next battles!
