So we have another battle, this time I am trying out a Marder Kompanie, which is a bit of a change for me! I must say I was surprised how much firepower it could pump out at long range, and the PAH are very useful in this case. Moskva tried an allied T-55 Formation as well. Please note as I dont have all my T-55s put together or BTR-60s, the T-72s are T-55 and the BMPs are BTRs. Thanks
SO the T-72 looking tanks on the Right are the T-55 Formation Commander and his 2 platoons. T-64s on the hill, and BTR-60 below them. Infantry on the left. Notice the lack of AA, it will come to haunt him
We chose Hasty Attack, so half went into reserves, Immediate Reserves for the Soviets and Delayed scattered reserves for the West Germans
Turn 1 - Soviet get reserves first turn, more T-55s come on, go into the fields for cover. The T-64s on the hill, go hull down and use their songsters to shoot the infantry near the objective by the ruins. 1 hit but it is saved. The T-64s who advanced, also tried to shoot them but missed completely. The T-55s when for a shot on the hull down Jaguars, but missed, their slow firing really making it hard. could of been better but tanks were getting in position.
Turn 1 for the West Germans!! FIRE!!
The Jaguar 1s and their great HOT missiles launched at the closest T-64s, 2 hits and 1 kill, the other missile bounced off. The Pnzgren ZUG on the hill fired at the T-64s, but missed. The Pnzgren ZUG near the objective also fired their milans at the T-64 HQ tank, as they could only see that one. 2 hits, but one was exchanged onto the closest T-64. It was killed and the T-64 HQ tank was bailed. The PAH ZUG fired at the rear-most T-64 platoon killing 1. I must say the AT 23 on the HOT missiles is deadly!
Soviets got all their reserves this turn, the BTRs dashed up on the right, and the T-55s moved up behind the hill. The T-64s in the center moved up behind the forest to get in cover and away from those deadly PAHs and their HOT missiles. There was no shooting.
So we tried to pick some of them off. We could see a few of the T-55s. The Milans near the objective could see the T-55s, hit one and killed 1. The jaguars shot at the T-55s as well, hit one and brewed it up. They Scoot and shoot down the hill. The PAH fired at the T-55 HQ, but failed their firepower, bailing him.
Another pic fail sorry, so the Soviets dashed their BTRs forward and the T-55s moved up hull down on the hill to shoot the infantry. The T-64s in the center fired at the infantry on the objective as well. T-64s killed 1 milan team and 1 inf team. The T-55s brewed up a Jaguar. The rest missed or the inf made their save.
So this was a good turn for the West Germans, reserves came on and came in the form of deadly Tornados. The Soviets really rued the lack of AA here. But firstly the PAHs fired on the T-55s closest to them, bailing one and killing one. The 2 remaining Jaguars shot at the furthest T-55s killing one and bailing one. Which was doubly bad as they later failed their morale and ran. The other T-55s attached their HQ and passed. Then the Tornados came in on the grouped up BTRs, Top Armour 0 vs AT 8 is not good. They hit 7, killed 4 and 3 infantry stands inside failed their saves. They are great when they work, 8 points well spent!
The T-55s HQ remounted and the infantry dashed towards the objective. The T-55 and T-64s fired at the inf on the objective, but the infantry saved. The BTRs also advanced but no hits. That was lucky as any more casualties the WG Inf platoon would have to start making morale checks, while their soviet opponents go on despite huge losses.
The Tornado did not turn up they must be re-arming!! Luchs fired at the BTRs but missed, The milan team on the hill killed 1 T-55 and bailed the HQ team. Jaguars killed one BTR near the hill, and the Gepards shredded the two closest. Then the 7 Marders all focused fire onto the Soviet infantry platoon, killing 7 teams overall, just leaving 3 RPG teams and 1 PK LMG team.
Things are not good and now with the infantry platoon decimated then it is a case of killing what you can before a tactical withdrawal. The RPG teams tried to kill the Gepards but missed, the BTR bailed a Luchs, the T-64s fired at the infantry but they saved the 1 hit, and the PK LMG team killed one infantry team but they passed their morale. So that was pretty much it.
So this was a new battle for me, as I don't usually use the Marder Kompanie, and I did like it, I felt though a few more bad rolls and I would have been in trouble. The lack of smoke and AA by the soviets helped me a lot, I think next time, he would take that. Maybe less T-64s, they are great tanks but expensive. Also I still love Tornados, and am liking PAHs a bit more, but I think both were only so effective this game as there was no real soviet AA. But still a great game.
i already liked my Tornados and i knew how the munition dispenser worked, but was not aware of the utility in the different types of munitions being able to be used.
I now love my Tornados.
Nicely done and with an interesting force. Congrats on another win!
Good job JP.
Great Job leading from the front. You put a lot of time and effort into your Report. Well done. GO NATO
Great AAR again mein Kommandant!, Another stablisation of our Fatherland

A note, everything is saved and if you publish before it is ready, then it will fall behind all the other new ones and it does not receive the attention and ratings it should.
