Firestorm: Stripes

Mike wanted to play a game after work. We rolled a 4-Quick Mission.
Mike rolled a 3-Free for All
I rolled 1 4-95 points (bigger game)
Mike used Josh's West Germans, I used the East German list-playing them as Czechs
We proxied the Helos and the fast movers
Mike rolled higher so was the attacker-luckily he rolled a 4 and we played in daylight

I set my objectives at the allowable ends of the board in order to really stretch his forces out-he put his a little closer together.

Having been involved in a Red on Red incident, the 4th Czech Tank Division has been sent to a different area of operations. They are preparing to assault a battered West German Territorial Tank Battalion, when the Germans strike first.

West Germans
Jag1s pass Blitz and KIA 3 T-72Ms, German helos fire at T-72M and bail 1. The sa-9s are eliminated and the Leo1s KIA 2 T-55s. Milan teams miss the T-55s. Sa-9 did manage to shoot down 1 Tornado.

The BMP2s (4) fire their ATGMs at the German Helos and shoot both down. The T-55s KIA 1 marder and 1 Leo1. Soviet aircraft arrive and the Rolands shoot 1 down and 1 Roland gets bailed, the Hinds manage to KIA 1 Leo 1

West Germans:
The lone Leo1 from 1st zug passes morale and moves into cover. The Rolands pass morale but one wont remount. The Leo1s from 2nd zug KIA another T-55 and bail another. Marders move up and fire at the Hinds to no effect. Jag1s fire at T-72Ms and Kia another and bail 1. Milans from the infantry in the woods Kia another T-72M and Kia the bailed one as well. Arty fires a smokescreen

Czechs
The T-72s manage to KIA a Milan team in the woods. The T-55s KIA a Leo1 from 2nd zug. The BMP2 scouts KIA 2 marders.

Turn 3
West Germans
2nd Leo 1 zug fails morale. Roland fails to remount. No strike aircraft this turn. Leo2s (2) move from cover and fire at T-72Ms and KIA 4 of them!!!! One company of T-72s is gone. Lone Leo1 from 1st zug KIAs another T-55.

Czechs
BMP2s fire at Rolands and bail another oneT-55s KIA last Leo1 from 1st zug. Hinds fire and KIA 1 Leo2 and bail another. Arty fails to range in.

Turn 4
West Germans
rolands pass moral but neither one remounts. The German right starts to make a move on the Objective-the Fuchs and Marders move out of the woods. The remaining Leo2 KIAs another T-72. The Marders KIA 2 BMP2s. The Tornado shoots down a Hind.

Czechs

The T-72M KIA another Leo2. BMP2s bail all 3 marders. The other BMP2 componay KIAs a Roland. The T-55s KIA the M109Gs. and the remaining Hind bails a Gepard.

Turn 5
West German
Marders pass morale-1 doesn't remout, Tornado available. The Fuchs move up toward objective Marders KIA the last 2 BMP2s from an infantry company. Infantry milans KIA another T-55. Tornado misses the Hind.

Czechs

Hind KIA a Fuchs.-the infantry team is killed as well. T-72s KIA 2 Jag1s. arty fails to range in-again!!

Turn 6
West Germans

The German FIST team leaves the table. Remaining Jag1 fails morale. Roland flees also. Marders, 2 Fuchs and 2 Gepards move. Infantry Milans KIA another T-55. The Tornado salvo hits KIAs another T-55 and bails a BMP2.

Czechs
T-72s KIA 2 marders. the BMP2s KIA the German CO's Marder. The BMP2 scouts manage to KIA an infantry team. The Czechs are now trying to take an objective.

Turn 7
West Germans
No tornado available. Last marder fails morale. 2 milan shots miss the hind. Fuchs (2) move closer to the objective

Czechs

Infantry CC dash toward the objective. T-55s and BMP2s fire at the infantry and do nothing.

Turn 8

West Germans
The Fuchs and Gepards are in position. Milans KIA a BMP2 and the infantry PZfst 44 KIA a scout BMP-2

Czechs
Infantry move again. T-55 (3) try to overrun the 2 milan teams-they are supported by the 2 remaining infantry teams-in the end, 2 T-55s are burning and the Czech assault has failed.

Turn 9
West Germans
German infantry dismount. The Gepards fire on the dismounted Czech infantry in their foxholes-no effect. The infantry in the town fire at the BMP2s and again get no effect.

Czechs

Czech infantry fire at the German infantry in the buildings-and KIA 1 team. The Infantry assault the empty building but lose 1 team to defensive fire. the BMP2s manage to overrun 1 Milan team. The last T-72s KIA both Gepards

Turn 10
west German
German infantry assaults onto the objective-they lose one team to defensive fire. They manage to eliminate 2 Czech teams and take the objective!!!!! For now. On the other objective-the infantry KIAs another BMP2.

Czechs

The Czech infantry manage to KIA the sole remaining German infantry team. and on the objective the Czech infantry after taking 1 hit and losing 1 team KIA the last infantry on the objective, With this, The German CO concedes-although both sides have been fought to shreds.

27AUG85. The 4th Czech Tank Division has proven its loyalty and fought itself to shreds. At an undisclosed location, the Warsaw pact member states hold a meeting to discuss this latest outbreak of Red on Red incidents and reassure each other that they stand solidly with the Soviet Union and Socialism.
