A quick annihilation game of 69/70 points in the Hof sector. Adam wanted to use US forces today. We sat down and I explained the points system and we kept it to armored forces to speed the battle up.

Durchenko is ordered to move out at first light and use his battalion to conduct a recon in force of the town of Rothenacker. Before he can call his company commanders over for a briefing, U S tank forces move to engage them in the predawn darkness.

Turn 1
US night vision 12
1st Plt (3 M1s) move up and fire at the T-64s in the treeline. 2nd Plt (3 M1s) moves to cover the company's left flank and the CO and XO (XM1) move in behind the 1st Plt. 1st platoon gets a T-64 and bails one.

Russian night vision 24

T-72s(4) dash safely and cant shoot at the US tanks. Durchenko and 1 company of T-64s(4) CC dash to the Russian far right flank-hoping to be able to outmaneuver the US 2nd platoon. The T-64 company in the center (4) fire at the M1 platoon that killed and bailed their tanks....they roll a 1,1,1, nice. My Bmp1s fire saggers and hit the side of one M1-it rolls a save of 6-saved thanks to Chobham armor.

Operational maps on demand.
Turn 1 and the Russians are floundering in the darkness.

Turn 2
US night vision is 24

1st platoon (3 M1s) move to engage the T-72s. The CO and XO will fire on the T-64s in the woods. The 2nd platoon moves and engages Durchenko and the T-64 company (4)
1st platoon KIAs 2 T-72s. 2nd platoon bails and KIAs a T-64 the CO and XO hit, but armor saves are made by the T-64s in the woods.

Russian night vision-16

T-64s remount. T72s shoot at the M1s and both miss. T-64s in the woods fire at the CO and XO and bail the XO. BMP-1s fire saggers and hit the XO bailing it again-XO rolls a 5 so it remains just bailed. Durchenko and his T-64s continue to move against the US left flank. T-64s in woods pass their shoot and scoot. The 72s fail theirs.

T72s are not going to last long.

Turn 3

US night vision-20

US player sees he could end this quick-attacks

1st platoon KIAs the T-72 company (2) Russians lose a unit. The rest of the US force fires at and destroys the BMP1 scouts(2) Russians lose their 2nd Unit.

Russian rolls for dawn-3!!!! nope
Russian night vision range-16

Durchenko and his T-64 company (4) move to edge of crop field. The T64s in woods creep up and fire at the 2nd platoon and get some good gunnery in and KIA 2 M!s,

A lot of lead in the air.

Turn4
US night vision range-16
The lone M1 from 2nd platoon passes morale. Sgt Garcia takes his tank back closer to friendly lines. CO and XO move to cover the vacated 2nd platoon location. !st platoon fires and KIAs another 2 T-64s in the wood line.

Russians roll for daylight-yes!!!! dawn!!!

Durchenko and his T-64 company (4) move and engage the CO and XO but their increased armor saves the 2 hits we got on them. The 2 T64s in the woods however KIA 2 of 1st platoons M1s.

Daylight brings hope to the Motherlands finest.

Turn 5

1st platoons lone surviving M1 passes morale. and manages to kill a T-64 and bail another. ITV fires and misses the T-64s. CO and XO move back and fire at the T64 company and bails 1. Durchenko is hit by M1 fire and is bailed.

Last T-64 in woods flees....You cowards!!!! The other T64 and Durchenko remount. Durchenk KIAs the last M1 in 2nd platoon( US losses 1) and the T-64s KIA a ITV.

Going down to the wire.

Turn 6
The ITV fails morale and flees-US has lost 2 units. Last surviving M1 bails a T-64 The CO and XO Kia another. That leaves Durchenko, 1 bailed T-64 and 1 running T-64 out there.

Lone T-64 rolls for morale-and rolls.......a 1!!!! and the platoon flees and I have no more formations left. The Russian withdraw. The US forces are too worn to even think about following up.

Retreat....next time my nemisys next time.

A great fight that went down to the last tank. Night fighting really favors NATO forces. But man was that a fun fight. Next time. Lessons learned-I really needed to keep my BMPs really safe till daylight.
