Firestorm: Stripes

Look at pictures in refers order of posting.

The marine player set up with his m60 hq and a platoon of the same, plus a platoon of Infantry and their transports on the board. Hq on one objective, m60 platoon to the left of that behind the woods, and Infantry platoon on the firearms objective.

Soviet player decided to go for the back objective, so loaded that side of the board with t-64s, Mech company and t-55s.

Turn 1 advanced and took no shots. Marine player fired the hq, but m60 platoon could see nothing. Got reserve of small much co., Followed t-55s.

Turn two unloaded the Infantry, swung t-64s around the mines, t-55s moved up to the road, bmps spread out. I managed to kill one m60 from the platoon. Marines m60s return fire and along with dragon and SMAW team, killed two t-64s and bailed two and the unit fled. At this point i thought the game was over, o should have waited another turn for my Infantry to engage the Marines.

Turn 3 Soviets move t-55s to the woods, bmps mostly sit still to take shots, none of which do anything. Spandrels and Gaskins come in. US m60s shot up 4 bmps, two from each unit.

Turn 4 t-55s move into woods half bog. T-55s kill 1 m60 in the open, bmps kill 2 more. Spandrels take out AAVP7, transports run. Formation commander m60 killed, transfers to 2ic. 2ic moves deep into woods to avoid sighting.

Turn 5, only one t-55 can get close enough to shoot at formation hq tank, if it is killed i will win as m60 reinforcements cannot make it to objective without dashing. I need a 6 to hit, i miss. Other losses force me to concede this point.

I never would have believed it could be that close a game after throwing away my t-64s.
