As the outcome of the eager attack was in the end really dire, I thought I could a least let other commanders profit of my defeat in the way that I try to carve out the most important lessons I’ve learned that day. I probably also should remark that it was my second game of TY at all. I also added some of my photos which hopefully enrich your perspective on the game.

Lessons learned:
– Screen the reserve area (e.g. with widespread infantry)
– Don’t put rocket launchers in reserve except you really have to
– Field Harriers only in a squad of 4 (2 are too easily shot down, even by light AA)
– If you wanna use MBTs (which rather seldomly seems to ba a good idea), use more than one platoon
– Lock down the objective as early as possible. It may look like you have a lot of time and forces left, but you never know how the battle develops
– If you can (and you don’t need the platoons für the reserve platoon count as I did), field Scimitars and Scorpions in Squads of 4 so that they pack a punch beeing able to knock out a BMP platoon.
– Recce is really strong and always should be taken

Unit of the game:
Definitely the Recce units allowing to enlarge my deployment area quite a bit.

On tuesday my Brits will have a chance to take revenge on the NVA. Looking forward to this possibility I shifted the composition of my forces a bit. I’ll keep you updated!
