This was an embarrassment to the USSR. If this were the old days, the Commander should have paid the ultimate price for a poor showing. Well, wait, he did. Using the Scout Spearhead, the US unit was able to deploy forward and advance quickly on the Battalion Commanders position. Even though the BT was deployed in woodland terrain, the first shots fired delivered a fatal blow. In the Soviet half of turn one, ambush revealed two Storm AT units. They couldn’t have been any less effective, firing two shots that both missed. On the other side of the board, a Company of T-72 exchanged shots with 4 Abrams, bailing the Platoon Leader. Turn two, the US destroyed 2 T-72s and one Gopher AA, but failed to hit the Storms. US units were now on an objective near the Storms’ position, but they would have to move closer to contest. Attempting a blitz move failed to make the skill level, and both Storms failed their cross check. Pathetic! Credit goes to an aggressive US force that used Spearhead effectively and gained some early kills. Disadvantage seems to be to the unit having to wait for delayed reserves, or in the case of this short fight, a poor choice of units put on the board at the start of the battle.
Whoops, that was a fast one! If Soviet captains keep removing themselves for poor performance is that going to weaken your force or strengthen it through natural selection? 😉
Kubikhan,
Can’t see Berlin yet, digging in on a flank, reports indicate a massive communist force coming our way.
And give kudos to DeltaRed58 on how the tanks look, he painted both armies, I just helped put on base coats.
Congrats to Niner2Golf on some good looking tanks, and an even better looking win. Can you see Berlin from your forward positions?
Another hard fought action.
Great to see the other side of the hill Comrade DR 58
Concise AAR, and sufficiently confusing Pictures
nice terrain to fight over and OK forces
recommend you for a second try to save Leipzig
It is a hard battle to fight. Good report as well.
Tough fight. I wouldn’t send you to the gulag. Back into the line. Always reward victory, not defeat
Next time. There’s always next time.
100 years gulag for you! Let’s see if I can hold the ground I’ve been viciously taking from you.
