Force overview

Forward elements of the 9th Panzer Division

The glorious 9th Panzer Division with T-72 leader, two kompanies of 3 T-72, medium BMP1 kompanie, four Shilkas and four Mi-24 Krokodiles with Air Assault company in support.

The Opposing force - 3rd Iron Division

The Brits fielding two infantry platoons, three Chieftains, four Scorpions, four Harriers, two Rapiers and Iron Maiden Billboard.

Deplyment and Plan

The view from incoming Mi-24 Krokodiles

The Objectives were placed in the centre - breaking the line - and one behind - cutting them off - with the Brits digging in there infantry at the frontline with Chieftains hiding in the treeline. Scorpions nowhere to be seen.

With only two units I still took aggressive stance
This being the plan - surprise element not shown

I had decided beforehand that I was going to play aggressive and Aggressive it was going to be! The BMP's should rush forward no matter what and aim for the rear objective while the panzer force should dig up the British infantry at the front objective.

Battle Begins!

Baiting them with Shilkas went a little awry as they recieved all the return fire, but they found the Scorpions.
The BMP's did not get past the Chieftains under the cover of night without three casualties but still they charge on
FORWARDS! Minefields will not stop the rightful proletarian revolution!

Aggressive Surprise!

Air Assault Company got the message and swoops in to deploy behind enemy lines!
Damn the British, they had a platoon on standby rushing the objective! Only one Krokodile was downed as two are forced into the air again, but half of the asasult company did get out
BMPs continue to advance, suffering heavy losses, finally with only the commander left they leave the infantry infront of the Chieftains
Two units of reinforcements! T-72M's rolling in! Seen further away the finantry advance on the Chieftains, managing to bail one
Mi-24's manuvering to give the just arrived infantry a salvo with little success as the Air Assault kompanie takes cover
Cut off with out support the Air Assault kompanie shoots and charges the closest infantry vehicle, tearing it down!
The Commander rushes in and with his squad knocks out all of the Scorptions in one impressive volley!
The Rapiers show up just as dawn breaks to take down the Krokodiles
But not before it got one Chieftain, making the others run away!
The Harriers managed to find the fireing button at last and got two T-72M's, forcing the last to retreat

Last ditch attempt

As all axis of attacks had failed I put everything rushing onto the frontline objective in an attempt to force a draw.

For some reason the Brits objected to this plan and rushed forward all there forces
and with that added firepower my forces were decimated....
Burning wrecks everywhere....

The End

This is my third battle and first time engaging Major Beavers Brits, Damn they are tough!

It was an awesome fight! My plan to play super aggressive could have worked if he had rolled a little differently (just the first reinforcement roll would have been enough) but I had great fun trying this playstyle. And so many good moments in this game, Hinds dropping in, Chieftains deciding on what to shoot and where to be, Scorpion decimation by T-72 volley, to name just a few.

I must commend Major Beaver on great terrain (the table was made the day before just so we could play!) and beautifully painted army, thanks again for a great battle evening, maybe I'll get you next time ;)

Few more pictures from the game and terrain.
