WHITE HOUSE SITUATION ROOM
SUMMARY: (S) Joint Task Force Banzai S2 reports contact between Kampfgruppe Von Stein and Panzer Regiment 23, T-72 Panzer Kompanie 2, outside of Kronberg, Frankfurt corridor.
DETAILS: (S) NATO and Bundeswehr command report significant losses to West German 1st Panzer Brigade while engaged with Soviet forces within the Frankfurt corridor. Large amounts of NATO forces have been dedicated to the expulsion of Soviet forces in Frankfurt. Despite the volume of losses to NATO forces, NATO command believes the full retaking of Frankfurt to be feasible. NATO command has requested all available forces be redirected towards Frankfurt.
(S) Commander Joint Task Force Banzai has ordered all Banzai assets to deploy to Rhein-Mein Airbase outside of Frankfurt to support West German 1st Panzer Brigade.
(S) After the friendly fire incident at Heedfeld, Ruhr Corridor, Kampfgruppe Von Stein was transferred to Giessen Depot for rearming and on-boarding of replacements. Hauptmann Gervas Von Stein was ordered by Commander Joint Task Force Banzai to immediately complete refitting and make way towards Frankfurt to muster with Joint Task Force main elements.
(S) While en route towards Frankfurt, Kampfgruppe Von Stein was ambushed by East German Panzer Regiment 23, T-72 Panzer Kompanie 2. Ambush was conducted outside of the city of Kronberg, 20km north-east of Frankfurt. Intelligence reports T-72 Panzer Kompanie 2 was dispatched from main body of Panzer Regiment 23 after East German surveillance detected Kampfgruppe Von Stein en route south towards Frankfurt. Panzer Regiment 23, at the time, was moving towards Frankfurt to reinforce Soviet elements engaged with West German 1st Panzer Brigade.
(S) Engagement between T-72 Panzer Kompanie 2 and Kampfgruppe Von Stein is photo-documented below along with Operation briefing.
Well... scheisse!!! I think I made every mistake possible in this game. From the initial setup, I deployed heavily to the right side with the intention of storming my Leopard 1s forward to take the East German objective. Instead I used the Leopard 1s to bunker up and exchange fire with three platoons of T-72s. Leopard 1s should never be static, and this continues to be one of my consistent mistakes. At least this game I remembered to use my LARs minelets on the first turn, redirecting Zeromoon’s tank platoon. In the end I was spread far too thin and came nowhere close enough to protecting the left objective. Without reinforcements arriving, at the start of turn three Zeromoon’s infantry controlled my left objective unopposed, resuling in his victory.
This was my third and final game in the Adepticon Team Yankee tournament. My opponent for this last game, Zeromoon, won the medal for best painted army, with his fantastic East German’s. Overall, the tournament was absolutely outstanding. Chuck Badger 6 (the tournament organizer), was a great guy and kept things moving in a very fun and jovial manner. All of my opponents were fun to play against, never taking the games too seriously. From talking to Chuck, the tournament grew since last year, going from 8 players in 2017 to 24 players this year. It’s great to see the community growing. In conclusinon, I would highly recommend the Adepticon Team Yankee tournament and plan on attending it again, myself, in the future.
I love your paintjob Stone. My East Germans are painted with the like so I may be a bit partial 😉
Honor even in defeat.
nice report mate as per usual, too bad on the loss! Love the minlets on the tanks, I use that alot, slows em down. Yes you need to keep em moving, but sometimes its difficult
Well, that’s one way to point out where minefields are.
Excellent report and schematics, loved the visual effects
Looks like a great game
Not enough nuclear blasts for this report 😀 !
Great job
Two thumbs up Stone.
I love the graphics!!! Fantastic report
I love the Buckaroo Banzai theme
Beautiful report! Good outcome, too… 😉
Great videos and graphics, and glad to see I’m not the only one who makes questionable moves once in a while. Still, our commanders are outstanding!
