This was a total disaster for the British. A combination of an inexperienced commander (me) chieftain crews who couldn’t hit a tank troop in the open at close range, and reserves that didn’t turn up, led to the soviet steamroller just plowing over the field.

The main highlights were the good effort from the RAF in providing Close air support and and the heroics of a scimitar crew who attempted, and nearly succeeded at, taking out a Russian t-72 with a cheeky RARDEN attack on the side of the turret.

However, after 4 turns, all I had left on the field was a single spartan, who, not at all unreasonably, given the hordes of soviets storming across the field, ran off.

Definitely some lessons to be learned here- you can read the Soviet AAR for more details and nice pictures.

some days reporting is a headache; but a hard fought game (and it’s just a game after all!

Bayankhan is right (although from the wrong side) – a list can lead to feedback; and BTW, ask him for some loaded dice, he’s a Soviet Apparatchik and Silovik after all.

Hard fought battle. Make sure you put in a couple of photos to receive a higher battle report rating.

Don’t worry about early setbacks, especially if you’re new to this. Join us in the British briefing room for advice on writing reports too.

if your buddy has pictures, borrow a couple and get those extra XP. Also upload a PDF file with your list, more XP. I enjoy the pictures but study the OBs to see what people are using, and sometimes can offer suggestions, even to NATO. (and no, I don’t try to steer you into a bad list)

Thanks. I forgot to take any- it was my first game using the army and only my third ever, so once we got started I just didn’t have the headspace for it. Plus I was annoyed that one of my harriers had a reversed magnet after some last minute surgery that I’d not noticed so that’s why the bare stick.

Aim is to paint the infantry in the next couple of weeks and bulk the force out to 100 PST by brining the cheiftains and mech inf to full strength, adding a pair of strikers, another two lynxes, and maybe something else.

  • Victor says:

Better luck next time (maybe bring along loaded dice? 😀 )

You should at least put some pictures up, looking at the other report your army looks quite nice, give them some credit and good looking propaganda.
