As the day breaks in Eastern Frankfurt the West German defense troops see a force moving into the city. This force looks like an US Armored Cavalry unit but it is clearly Warsaw pact forces trying to use decoy equipment. The Germans have half of their company deployed when they first see the advanced guard approaching and hope that the rest of the Germans will make it in time to halt the attackers. Thankfully the Germans reinforcements start arriving immediately and they come in the form of a Leo1 tank platoon. Those tanks along with an air strike on the enemy armor forces set the stage for a fierce battle. The center of the battlefield becomes a field of smoldering hulks as both sides destroy a tank platoon directly across the street from our infantry defensive belt. The battlefield proved very fluid as forces shifted to get better shots on each and the enemy brought in an air assault force that had to abandon ship as our gunners shredded their Hueys. This bold defense along with out Leo1s counterattacking in the center hit the enemy hard and caused him to rethink his strategy. There were still enemy tanks moving in the north but our airstrikes and Milan teams took care of them. The last enemy tank that was pushing for the objective was taken out by an infantry team hidden in a building with a Panzerschreck up the butt. That tank loss pretty much broke the enemies back and sealed victory for our German defenders.

The battlefield lays out before us.
Our defenders employ heavilly in the northern sector with only a covering force in the south.
The enemy also loads his strength heavily in the northern sector. It appears there will be a strong push into the city rather than the more open ground in the south.
Our defenders decide to push out in a bold move to take the fight to the attackers rather than sit and wait for them to dictate the battle. This might be a bad decision since our Leo1 tanks are so lightly armored.
In the south our reinforcements begin to arrive in the form of a tank platoon that greatly bolsters our defensive belt.
Our Marders and Luchs forces push out to attack the enemy recce units and make a push to eliminate the enemy artillery that keeps pounding our forces.

The enemy M60s pushed up into the woods and eliminated our weakly armored Leo1 platoon in the center. This was not a good situation as it left our Milan teams and Jaguar 1s without armor support.

Things were looking a little dicy up front as an enemy air strike comes in direcly at our AA forces and takes out a Gepard. At lease we dropped one of their Harriers.
Our reserve LEO1 platoon has made it far enough north to engage the enemy M60s and took out the entireplatoon with well aimed fir blasting into their side armor. It looked like we could pull this off and hold the middle after all.
The enemy saw the chance to strike and launched his air assault forces in the south. Four helicopters landed in the south with an open road to the southern objective. We would have to react to this advance.
In the north the enemy was pushing his remaining tanks up the road into town, heading directly for our company headquarters.
In the south our reinforcements continued to arrive directly in the path of the enemy air assault forces and poured the machine gune and auto gun fire into the helicopters and passengers. it was not a good day to be an air assault troop.
At the same time in the north we were holding strong and hoping to get some Milan shots at the enemy. Another flight of Tornados came in on the enemy M60s killing one and bailing the other. Things were looking up for the defenders.
The enemy air assault forces assaulted a wounded formation of Marders and destroyed them, then moved on to grab the objective. This was an expected move and the defenders were ready to respond to this bold move.
Over in the north the enemy continued to drop artillery on our forces and tried to get their last M60 moving forward toward the objective.
Our reinforcements continued to bring additional firepower into the south, all of which was used against the enemy infantry troops on the objective. The massive fire was just too much for the infantry as they were wiped off of the objective. The final threat in the south was destroyed and we could now focus all of our power toward the north.
In the north our defenders continued to attack out against the enemy in an attempt to eliminate their AA units and Arty. This mission proved to bevery tough as it appeared that the enemy's artillery vehicles had some sort of super reactive armor protecting them.
The remaining enemy forces in the north kept up a valiant fight, refusing to retreat or die and had to be hit many times with all sorts of fire to stop their advance.
It was clear that the battle in the south was over and that we had held our objectives.
The last enemy tank continued to push on the objective and was blasting out infantry with aimed tank rounds. It took a hidded infantry team with a Panzerschreck and a well placed shot into the rear of the last M60 to end its push. Our infantry platoons continued to hold in spite of the metal rain on their heads.
The enemy had one last attempt to take out the defenders and launched another artillery attack on out infantry. Thankfully we held on to keep the objective out of enemy hands.
It was a hard fought battle and we lost two of our twelve platoons. Thankfully we broke the enemy and held on to hold the battlefield and our objectives.

Love the opening video. At least this time you aren’t having exercise missions against other West Germans.

Any excellent batrep Oberst Hunts! Those crafty Reds are trying to pull a fast one using captured US equipment, good thing you didn’t fall for it. Great choice of video as well, now it’s stuck in my head.

Unfortunately we once again have no WP/Red forces to play against. While these FTXs are fun, they just don’t scratch the itch.
