American's over ran at Niederbayern
60 POINTSAn American Armored Cav Unit was assisting a Marine Unit in Holding off a Russian push into Niederbayern.
The Soviet force appeared to be 2 full BMP 2 Companies supported by Recon, Forward Observers for an artillery battery. And platoon size element of tanks.
The American M1’s where forced to fall back after a small Marine Platoon was over run, while waiting on an Air Assault from a Full Strength Marine Platoon attempting to perform a Flanking maneuver and take the objective flanking the rear of the Soviet push.
As the Air Assault was slow to arrive the Soviet forces rapidly advanced on the American positions effectively splitting them down the middle. This had the desired effecting of splitting the Abrams platoon, and cutting off the smaller scout elements from being able to spot advancing elements and call for coordinated fire from heavier units. The Transports where not able to effectively hold the right flank and the soviets forced the Americans back.

Any commander can visualize a combat sequence, just picture ANY war movie. from this report “we were Soldiers” comes to mind. Thanks for the report, keep them coming and I’m sure you’ll find a solution to your list.

If you don’t have picture, use real photos to help tell the story. If your trying to gain experience, the photos, a video, and linking can go a long way .

There are no photos from this game. I did not play in the last campaign. This was more of a test game. But I wanted to get a feel for the site and what was expected of the battle reports.
Thanks for posting the report – I’ll hold off rating until you can get some photos, etc. up as I don’t want to downrate people this early in the campaign.
Half on Half off means the Soviets can bumrush both objectives with infantry and transports. Seems NATO needs infantry to secure both objectives so the tanks are free to respond where needed. The air assault in reserve takes too long to threaten an objective.
I am still trying to fine tune this list. I have been a day 1 american player. I was giving the M1 IPs another go with this list. Lets see how long they last.
