Firestorm: Stripes

This was 64 points and a HOF Hasty Attack Battle last night. There needs to be a grace period of when missions lock and posting results. 3 M1IPs in the list.

Turn 1: Infantry deployed in the Building securing the right side objective and flank. The Sheridan’s and the FIST took up the Tree line over looking the center objective ready to bring HE rounds and Fire support on the warehouse. The M1s where in ambush with the ACR commander watching the objective on the left.

This left an infantry platoon, 2 scout sections, and stingers in reserve

The M1s sprung their ambush from the hull down position and removing 3 BMPs from the fight. The Sheridan’s Managed to take out a T72.

The soviets advanced the BMPs and the T72 leaving the infantry in place and Managed to take out 1 Sheridan. The OP was unable to call in a rocket salvo as the spotter could not locate the target.

Turn 2: The Sheridan’s took out 1 T72 with missiles. The M1’s finished the other 3 with main gunshots.

The red army finally started pushing the infantry forward to attempt to mount some sort of mass. The BMPs managed to get some missiles at the M1 but the Improved armor was able to shrug off any hits.

Turn 3: The M1s focused back on the BMP2 on the left hand side of the board and opened fire taking out 4. The Sheridan managed to hit one spandrel behind the burning T72, but only managed to bail it. A scout section showed up and got into potion to support the infantry on the right side of the board. The mortars ranged in on the far infantry in the corner and managed to pin them in place.

The soviets manged to return fire with the spandrels taking out 1 sheridan and bailing one. The BMP op called in a rocket salvo knocking out a mortar and bailing another Sheridan. The Sheridan’s spiked the vehicles and where out of the fight once the shooting stopped. The infantry kept advancing in the center, and the BMP1’s moved closer to the Apartment building on the right side of the board. The BMP1s moved up to take out the scout section behind the building and keep the infantry moving behind them but they where unable to rally from the incoming mortars.

Turn 4: Sorry I lost the pic of this – Two more platoon of reserves arrived. A scout section and a platoon of 82nd airborne. The choppers landed behind the unarmored rocket trucks and door gunners took out two trucks and bailed another. The M1s moved up into potion to take out the spandrel missiles behined the T72s, also taking out a couple more BMP2 on the left. The infantry in the building seeing the BMP1’s in range of the laws rockets let them know they where not welcome in the neighbor hood. Leaving 3 remaining. The stinger missiles show up and try and hold the objective and assist if needed. (M1IPs Hate frogs)

The soviets tried to get a couple of missile on the side of the M1’s but the chobham armor adsorbed the hits with no problem from the older sager missiles. Both infantry companies seeing their they are loosing mechanized assets push forward to they an get into cover to deal with the american armor. 1 BMP 2 ties to flank the M1s but is unable. The shulka’s push up to take out a M113 and get into position to place high rate of fire into the apartment complex.

Turn 5 and 6 (I was ampped up as I was thinking this air assault in the back is going to work so missing pic): The 82nd behind the woods looses one chopper on the ground to BMP fire, and both passengers make it out. The mount in the Choppers and loiter in the air waiting to pounce. The M1s go after the remaining BMP2 and find the Battalion commander hiding. 1 of the Abrams finds a couple of Shulks in the open and relives them of the vehicles. The M1s move up and pin the infantry in place so they can no longer advance on the objective. The Scout section tries to find some cover to over look the objective. And the stingers continue to improve their fighting potions. The ITV takes out a BMP1. The infantry continue to work on BMP1, while taking consistent fire and unable to rally.

The Soviets fire and assault the apartment building on the right. But are pushed back trading 5 stands for 2. And mange to kill 1 chopper. The BMP1s finally give up the ghost and break. MG team on the objective fails to dig in.

Turn 7: Ride of the Valkyries. The 82nd see their chance and land on the 2 teams on the objective. contesting. open fire killing 1 stand. The M1s and the M113 just take shot into the infantry in the center of the board.

The soviets unpin, They do not move the BMP OP and just take a shot at the choppers missing.
The MG team fails to dig in, and misses shooting ant the choppers. The soviets assault the building taking out a stand, and forcing them to break off. Consolidate into the apartments, and moving the MG team back. again missing an opportunity to move closer to the choppers.

Turn 8:
82nd jump out and kill the MG team taking the objective.
