Situation

An East German Panzer Battalion is moving in on Amsterdam and You Major Major Beaver are going to stop them

Armies and Deployment.

My British infantry company with support.

My Company with 2 short infantry platoon, 3 Chieftains, 4 Scorpions, 4 Harriers and 2 Rapiers.

The East German Panzer Battalion

The East Germans with Hq T72, 2 platoons of 3 T72, Medium BMP1 company, 4 Shilkas, 4 Hinds with Air Assault company.

Deloyment at dawn

I chose to place my objective as far back as possible and the enemy placed his as close to his deployment area as possible.

I then deployed one infantry platoon on the forward objective supported by the Chieftains and the Scorpions in ambush. I placed my 2 minefields on the left side to prevent a rush down the flank.

The Enemy deployed his BMP´s on my left flank with the infantry mounted and his 4 Shilkas on my right flank.

Chieftains in firering position.

The Battle Begins

The Enemy pushes hard down both flanks
I pop my ambush. Killing 3 Shilkas. The road has been cleared for the Air support. Now they just has to show up.
What a wonderful sight.
On the left flank the Chieftains start picking out some BMP´s.
In the next turn the German reserves begin to arrive.

Komandant Victor makes a bold move. Seeing how his forces are being massacred by British firepower, he throws a HAIL MARY, landing his Air Assault company on the lower objective. I now need to move fast to stay in the game.

Luckily i get a 5 for my first reserve roll. In comes the 2nd infantry platoon and occupies the building next to the objective.

Heavy fire kills one Hind and the infantrys presence forces two hinds to take of.

Harriers forgot their bombs.

At this time in the battle my company and I felt sure we had stopped the Red aggressors. But it seemed I had underestimated the Germans.

Encourage by their Komandat, the BMP´s drives right through the minefields unshaken, despite losing 2 more BMP1´s.

By this time Victors 2 T72 platoons has entered the table pushing forward.

Daylight has come, making it easy for my newly arrived Harries to range in on the tanks.... But NO hits.

Result of Harriers bombing raid on the T72 on the bridge...... NOTHING
The surviving Air assault team from the shut down Hinds assault the lonely FV432 and destroys it.
Burn baby burn.
A view across the battlefield. I am sure the East Germans would wish to be "Back to the Future".
German infantry get sideshots on one Chieftain, resulting in double bail. But he remounts.
At the same time the Hinds try to carpet bomb the infantry in the house, with 0 casualties as result.
The Chieftains pull back and sprays bullet everywhere. killing a stand or two.

End game

Despite of seeing their comrades die, the East germans keeps pushing forward.
Getting another go at the side armour, bailing the front tank once more.
While my Scorpions try to deal with the German infantry, they seem to neglect the thread from the T72, but being hit on 4+ and then concealment it should be ok.
Slight miscalculation. 4 shots, 4 kills.....
Dead birds and smoking tanks.

Victor decides to land two Hinds to load of the remaining assault company, the one left flying kills a Chieftain, resulting in a motivation test which they fail, despite being joined by the formation commander.

But my Rapiers arrive Blitzing in from reserve, killing 2 hinds leaving 1 for the FV432 to kill.

Game over.

Turn 5, and Victor needs to get some stands inside 20cm of objective not to lose next turn. He decides to assault, only to be stopped by defensive fire.

In the following turn I wipe out the infantry and finally the Harriers hits, but two six´ On his amoursave means only two T72 bails. But the T72 fails morale. Now My 3 Milan teams join the battle and kills the 2 T72 left in the Centre platoon, leaving the DDR commander with noting but died and burning troops.

Victories british infantry. Unshaken and unbeaten. (At least this time).

This was the first time Victor and I played each other and the first time my new gaming board was used. We had a blast, with the luck of the dices shifting back and fourth. Highlights of the game, must be me rolling a 5 on my first reserve roll, giving me the strength to push the Air Assault Company from the objective and when Victors 4 T72 needing 5 to hit, obliterated my 4 Scorpions.

Good game.
