Deployment and Armies.

Deployment zones and plans of attack.

As you can see, the table reminded of a revolving door and with the deployment areas cutting the table into quarters, the scene was set.

My plan was to spearhead my scorpions forward to allow my Chieftains to deploy in the wheat-field and deal with the T-64s. 4 Chieftains against 7 T-64 should end up with British victory. In the mean time the Infantry should hold up the BMP2/Infantry bloop.

The Battle Begins

I got first turn, allowing the Chieftains the chance to stop the Russian Tank before they even got moving. But nothing happened. I moved my Scorpions the centre and the blowpipes to assist the infantry stop the BMP2s.
In my next turn I blitzed the Scorpions up the centre hill and in a unbelievable shooting step they killed 7 BMP2s with 8 Shots... Victory is mine... I thought. But as the Chieftains still couldn't hurt the T-64 everything was about to change.
My shooting remained harmless to the T-64.

The Chieftains payed the ultimate prize. One tank got blow up and one bailed, resulting in a morale test which I failed. Leaving my Flank only defended by the Tank HQ. Luckily I got reserves. 3 Chieftains arrived at the right time in the right place. But as my dice rolling continued to be poor and Red Alert making all saves trouble was in the making.

The Russians response is brutal. They attack the centre only defended by 4 scorpions and some FV432s.
More reserves arrive. This time 2 Swingfires. But with the possibility to blitz on from reserve removed, they have to drive into firing position.
The Russians keep pouring troops into the centre. MY defence starts to crumble.
The Silkas move up and finish of the FV432s and Blowpipes.
On my left flank the 2nd Chieftain platoon goes up in smoke, and the Swingfires burns as well, without even getting a shot fired.
"Resistance is meaningless take us to your leader". In the end the Russian horde is to much and I have to surrender.
The Happy Russian General.

After thoughts.

Another fun game in the Campaign. And even though I am not the worlds greatest commander, 7 Chieftains against 7 T-64, should not result in 7 burning Brits and 1 Russian. But that is what happens some time. 8 shots from 4 Scorpions also shouldn't result in 7 burning BMP2s. But I would have preferred to win the Tank Duel. In every game I think I learn something, and with the advice from Red Alert and people like Storm Caller I will improve.
