After Friday evenings training exercise against our Allies from West Germany, I received orders from our High Command to rush to Hanover, to help stop an oncoming Sovjet attack. Sure enough, the Russians came at dawn. Commanded by no other than Red Alert from the Enemy Central Committee.

We engaged the enemy near a over-crossing. I chose to defend the left objective with minefields and holding a mech platoon in ambush to counter the Russian attack. My biggest Chieftain troop deployed in the centre, to counter a potential attack on the objective in the middle and still being able to move to contest the left obj. if needed.
Red Alert divided his forces in two, to put maximum pressure on us.
The Russians come close, and managed to hit one of our tanks, but luckily it bounced. The return fire saw 2 T-64 burn and another bailed. In the following turn the enemy commander join in to rally the shaken tank crew, but ended up running away with them instead.
As a response to losing a company, the Russians called for air support. Despite of my Rapiers covering the Chieftains the Hinds went straight for the throat. I killed one with the Rapiers and one with AA MG, but that didn't matter. The Hinds lefts nothing but burning wrecks behind.
As my first reserves I called in the tanks, to get some troops on the ground.
It was a short appearance. They failed to hit anything, and in the next turn Red Alert bailed one, causing them to run of.
As my defence of the centre objective crumples, I decide to send two milan teams to protect it with the assistance of two lynx coming in from reserve.
The Russians continue their attack, but the Harrier arrives again, killing more Soviet armour. In a bold attempt to seize the day, a BMP-2 and a T-64 rushes to the objective. But the combined firepower of my own HQ Chieftain, 2 Milans, two Lynx and four Harriers obliterate the courages enemy. From now on it is just a matter of time before the Russian attack is stopped.
It ended with a 4-3 British victory.
I would like to thank Jökull aka Red Alert for always being a great opponent. He always teaches me something new about the game and is always smiling and creating a great atmosphere. No matter winning or losing its always great fun. That being said. Its always fun to beat a Russian General.
Congrats on the win MAJ Beaver. Why are McDonalds always a magnet for battles?
nice report, Well done on the win!
This was a really nice report, I’m glad your club is doing well this campaign too! Good job on beating Red Alert, he’s a tough nut to crack!
I am playing against Red Alert next wednesday hopefully i will continue our win streak!
Good report. My Soviets have yet to face a British force.
Beautiful terrain set up, and a Great AAR with impressive photos. This was really hairraising AND a Nail Biter for the Brits
thx for sharing
