Situational map.

After the heavy fighting against the Russians in Hanover, my men needed some rest. But an opportunity arose that had to be exploited. A Polish company in captured German vehicles guarded a hill and a railroad crossing. I expected them to be a bit unfamiliar, with their new equipment, so I decided to let the company attack.

Deployment and Armies.

British deployment, capturing the objective. Though it would only become "hot" in turn 6.

I deployed my Scorpions and spearheaded forward, being able to deploy a dug tin mech platoon on the right objective.

The 3 tank Chieftain troop deployed to the left, to draw attention away from my infantry.

The Polish deployed their Leo2´s in the centre along with 4 Gepards and the commander. also deploying the Tornadoes.

View from the Polish frontline.

The Trap.

First turn saw the Leo´s move into a wood shooting at my chieftain, causing no harm just a bailed out tank, as they where concealed and gone to ground. My plan had worked. The leo2s had been lured in to the trap, now the 3 Chieftains plus the Commander only needed to open fire. But NO the 2 Tornadoes came in hitting only one tank, but the top armour bounced the hit, but it was bailed. All of a sudden I needed to take a test. And I failed. 2 Chieftains dead and 1 run away.

Burning Chieftains.

The next turn saw the Polish mech platoon arrive, attacked my infantry holding the right objective. Still no reserves for me. The Luchs platoon had arrived in the first turn and tried to push of my Scorpins, with great success.

Polish head-on attack sees the platoon reduced to one stand. But he past the Man alone test 3 turns and withstood all shooting.

Like cows to the slaughter

On the left flank the reserves started coming in. First 2 Chieftains and then 2 Rapiers. But Leo2s made shot process with them.

Dead Rapiers.
Dead Chieftains. All 6 Chieftains failed to make a scratch on the Leo2s.

No luck no glory

Turn six arrived and the mech platoon was still holding the objective and had managed to kill 2 Luchs, the Polish infantry and marders, but the could not kill the 3 Gepards contesting the objective. The casualties had been high. 2 Milans, 2 Carl Gustafs. Leaving 3 66mm stands and a mortar team. We decided to call it the end. The Leo2s where on the way and the night was coming.

Warsaw Pact victory 4-3.

The End.
