625th Tank Battalion, First Company, T-72s, 7 strong, moved line-abreast across mostly open terrain during pre-dawn, followed closely by 2nd company (of 7 T-72s) while on the other side of the battlefield, a small town, a company of five T-64s advanced slowly between buildings. US Abrams tanks arrived from reserves and flanked the T-72 units inflicting heavy losses on the Russians, while the T-64 unit repelled several shots from M-47 Dragon ATGMs. A US ambush of four Abrams completely destroyed the first T-72 company, while Second company held their ground. US Cobra attacker helicopters tried to position themselves for a shot at the Soviet Battalion Commander, but were quickly dispatched by a Gopher SAM unit. Storm AT units took out the US Command Abrams, allowing the T-64s to move onto a US objective. Despite heavy losses, and never seeing daybreak, the bottom of turn six opened with a Soviet Battalion morale check,… a pass and a victory for the 625th.
