First turn the American recon cavalry arrive with many platoons of 113’s with swingfire and 5 cals jockeying for good positions, and reconoiting about without a care in the world. Our recon was never to be seen during the entire battle having been send to Dunderstrassen look for a copy of the Dillon classic “the art of house painting” second printing (the first printing having the wrong colour cover and no sleave notes) but luckily the Americana had no reserves on the first turn.
Glorious Russian first turn.
Shilka do nothing.
Captain Timdtom does nothing.
Colonel Tankedenky does whatever the masters of darkness do during the daylight, nothing.
Both BMP 1 platoons shake out the BMP’s into better firing positions, and the infantry do nothing.
General Pistoff cant be found and was last heard of heading to Leaderhousen strasser in search of “Elvis, the fat naked years” album, the one with the full colour centrefold and 3D rhinestone glasses.

Second turn, the American 113’s jockey for position. Some hiding behind buildings in the centre, some hiding behind trees on the flanks. But again no reserves. The mortar 113 platoon lays down a barrage killing one infantry element.

Colonel Tankedenky does whatever those who wear capes do during the daylight do, nothing.
One BMP 1 platoon on the right flank shoots at 113’s that are hiding and kill one or two and one scout platoon runs, and the infantry do nothing.
One BMP 1 platoon on the Russian left flank manoeuvres up in front of the hill to take side shots at the M113 scouts after hearing a garbled radio message about heading to the rocky mountain highways in front of a Woodstock?
General Pistoff cant be found and was last heard of heading to Shnorkel strasser in search of first printing of “Barbara Streisand sings Alvin and the chipmunk’s greatest hit’s in Hebrew” the studio version, not the live version which according to the General is quite frankly rubbish and not her best work at all.

The American third turn, only the one reserve platoon arrives. the American m1a1 platoon moves into position on the Russian left flank and kills two BMP1’s and bails one. The mortar 113 platoon lays down a barrage killing nothing.

Hinds are available from reserve but don’t hit anything 30 dice and nothing sigh......... but do survive the AA shooting.

Captain Timdtom does nothing.
Colonel Tankedenky does whatever those who have excessive pointy overbites do during the daylight, nothing.
The BMP 1 platoon on the right flank shoots at 113’s that are hiding and kill nothing
BMP 1 platoon on the Russian left flank decides to hold fast and shoot at the M1a1’s only to realise that they have a minimum range for the missiles and cant fire. That’s what happens when you take the keys to the car and don’t know how to drive, first time out for this driver never even having looked at the list or the cards. Their infantry do nothing.
General Pistoff cant be found and was last heard of heading to Techanic strasser in search of 6666 needle oil for his turntable arm and 250mm speaker cable for a more pure sound. According to the General if you cant hear the tears of the sound technician hitting the mixing board while “Tiny Tim sings the aria from La Boem”, your not a serious audio file.

American forth turn.
One reserve arrives, the off table artillery.
American M1a1’s manoeuvre to kill off the BMP1’s and end up killing two more, and bailing one.
The off table artillery kills two BMPs on the hill and the mortar platoon kills one infantry element.

Glorious Russian 4th turn.
One platoon of artillery of table becomes available.
Shilka do nothing.
Captain Timdtom does nothing.
Colonel Tankedenky’s tanks appear on the hill like phantoms in the night only in the daylight, so probably not phantoms, more like very very sneaky big tanks wearing bedroom slippers and oiled up like gogo dancers in a cage, so as not to make a sound, type sneaky. And promptly take out two M1’s, ouch!
The BMP 1 platoon on the right flank shoots at 113’s that are hiding and kill one or two and one scout platoon runs, and the infantry do nothing.
BMP 1 platoon on the Russian left flank decides to run like capitalists . Their infantry do nothing but kill off a scout platoon with rockets.
Artillery takes out one of the mortar 113’s
General Pistoff cant be found and was last heard of heading to Pashty strasser in search of blue jeans that are white......

American fith turn.
One reserve arrives, another M1A1 platoon, which promptly manoeuvres into a position in the centre of the table to take out the T64’s and kill two and bail one. The now smaller M1 platoon manoeuvres into position and kills two t64’s.
The off table artillery kills nothing and the 113 mortars do the same.

Glorious Russian 5th turn.
One platoon of artillery of table becomes available.
Hinds do nothing.
Shilka do nothing.
Captain Timdtom calls in an artillery strike and then has a long lie-down from all the exertion.
Colonel Tankedenky’s tanks take out one M1 and take out they then run like the imperialist running dogs that they are, ouch!

Both the artillery take out one tank and then bail two more in the centre M1 platoon and they run.
General Pistoff cant be found and was last heard of heading to pimp strasser to find goose fat to rub on his legs so he can slip into his new jeans......

At this point the Americans decide that with only two mortar 113s an OP 113 and a short platoon of two 113’s and the commanders 113 remaining it was time to go.
Both sides had terrible reserve rolls and couldn’t concentrate forces well, the Russians on the right flank did so better than the Americans and with some lucky rolls managed to concentrate enough fire to take out the dangerous M1’s.
Fun game if nerve racking, with some major mistakes from me, I usually play West Germans when I play which isn’t all that much. Thanks Mako.
